NSC orders to close all educational institutions, close western borders.
The National Security Committee (NSC) on Friday decided to take a number of steps to stop the distribution of coral in the country, including closing the borders with Iran and Afghanistan and canceling the annual Pakistan Day event on March 23.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, was attended by senior ministers in the province as well as military and military leaders.
The meeting decided that Pakistan’s border crossings with Afghanistan and Iran would be closed for two weeks, the interior ministry said.
The decision was made to close all education institutions in the country until April 5, said Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood
.
Foreign Minister Sha Mehmood Qureshi told DawnNewsTV that the March 23 had been canceled.
Special Assistant to the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan earlier in the day had said that “important decisions” to protect people would be taken during a special NSC meeting on coronaviruses.
“Our priority is to protect Pakistanis’ well-being,” he said, adding that measures will be taken to keep the country safe from the effects of the virus.
Awan said the purpose of the meeting was to bring the whole world together on the important issue of coronavirus and that the event was “part of a national effort to ensure consistency and contain the coronavirus”.
So far 21 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the country – 15 in Sindh, one in Balochistan and five in Gilgit Baltistan. The latest case was confirmed in Sindh at the beginning of a 52-year-old patient who arrived in the province from Islamabad two days ago and was found guilty on Friday.

Special Assistant to PM Health Dr Zafar Mirza had told Dawn that Friday’s meeting “could decide whether to impose a state of emergency or indirect”.
An official of the National Department of Health (NHS), requesting anonymity, said there was criticism that the prime minister did not play a leading role in the matter.
“However, now a meeting of the most appropriate organization has been convened to discuss the matter and is expected to decide that the coalition government will raise money to control the virus.
“Last week, a summary was proposed by Dr Mirza, demanding an allocation of Rs670 million and the issuance of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority’s mandate so that personal protective equipment is not immediately available.
